Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 17, 2026
Pawstamp is designed to keep your pet's photos and journal on your device. This policy describes exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what we deliberately do not do.
Who we are
Pawstamp is built by an independent developer (an individual, not a company). You can reach us at pawstamp.support@protonmail.com.
What we collect
Photos
When you generate a journal entry, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini API to be analyzed — both to write the playful "pet thought" and to extract structured behavioral data (e.g., pose, activity, setting). We use the Gemini API, not consumer Gemini; per Google's terms, content sent via the API is not retained by Google to train their models. Photos are processed in real time and discarded after the AI response is returned. We do not store photos on our servers.
Email address
Collected when you sign in with Apple or Google. Used solely for authentication and account recovery. Stored in Supabase Auth.
Name
Optional. If you share a name via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, it is stored in Supabase Auth user metadata. Used for displaying a friendly greeting in the app, nothing more.
Pet information
Pet name, species, breed, date of birth, and gender — entered by you during onboarding. Stored locally on your device via SwiftData. Not uploaded to any server.
Journal entries
The photos you keep, the AI-generated text, and the extracted behavioral data are stored locally on your device via SwiftData. They are not uploaded, backed up, or synced to any server.
Subscription data
Managed by RevenueCat. Apple processes your payment directly; RevenueCat relays your subscription status (active / expired / trial) so the app knows whether to unlock premium features. We do not receive your payment method or billing details.
Usage counter
A small row in our Supabase database tracks how many AI photo analyses you've used per day (max 20/day for rate limiting). It contains only an anonymous user ID, date, and count. No photo content, no journal content.

What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your photos for advertising.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not use cookies — this is a native iOS app.
- We do not retain your photos on any server after AI processing.
- We do not share your data with third parties except the services listed above, which are required for the app to function.
Data retention
- Authentication data (email, name): retained until you delete your account.
- Usage counter: retained for rate limiting; historical rows may be pruned after 90 days.
- On-device data (pet profiles, journal entries, photos): controlled entirely by you — deleted when you remove the app or via in-app account deletion.
Account deletion
You can delete your account inside the app at any time: Settings → Delete Account.
- Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period.
- After 30 days, all server-side data (auth record, usage counters) is permanently deleted.
- Signing back in during the grace period automatically cancels the scheduled deletion.
- On-device data (journal entries, pet profiles) remains on the device until the app is uninstalled.
Children's privacy
Pawstamp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
